3 Reasons Shaun T is an elite basketball performance trainer
Sunday May 31, 2020
Sunday May 31, 2020
Basketball is considered an intermittent high-intensity sport that requires mainly anaerobic metabolism.
Done continuously over 30-40 minutes it has some components of aerobatic metabolism. Shaun T trains you to get ready to excel.
- Reason 1: Insanity utilizes maximal interval training. This is where you are moving for at least 3 minutes at a time. Because of this, you are hitting the aerobic portion of the workout hard
- Reason 2: Basketball is a game of rhythm and rhythm requires hand and foot coordination. Insanity does a great job of working on these motor skills.
- Reason 3: Stretch and cool down. Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight.

The Digital Divide with former CIO of California Eli Cortez
Tuesday May 05, 2020
Tuesday May 05, 2020
The Digital Divide is the gulf between those who have ready access to computers and the Internet, and those who do not. "a worrying “digital divide” based on educational attainment and income".
COVID-19 has bought this issue to the forefront with school closing.
According to https://www.pewtrusts.org "The Pew Research Center reported in May 2019 that 44 percent of adults in households with incomes below $30,000 don’t have broadband. This disparity in access is also seen in what researchers call the “homework gap”—the differences between school-age children who have access to high-speed internet at home and those who don’t. A 2015 center report found that 35 percent of lower-income households with children in school didn’t have a broadband connection at home."
Eli Cortez former CIO of California and CTO of LAUSD (second largest school district in the country offers unique insights and proposals on how to close the digital divide during the Coronavirus and the future.
